The Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Fusō was a dreadnought-class battleship, the lead ship of her class, and was commissioned in 1915. Fusō and her sister ship Yamashiro were extensively modernized during the 1930s, but were considered outclassed by newer Japanese battleships by the start of World War II. Fusō was sunk by torpedoes and naval gunfire during the Battle of Surigao Strait in the early hours of October 25, 1944
