Description
The name Dennis is synonymous with fire appliances and yet the two brothers Raymond and John started out in 1895 in a Devonshire village on a path which would lead them to producing cars, lawn mowers, buses and lorries as well as fire appliances. They started producing the F series of fire engines in 1946, with the F12 being the most popular.
The scale of 1:148 is referred to as N and 148 times smaller than the real thing. This is the second most popular scale in the UK for railway layouts. Oxford Diecast has become the worlds biggest producer at what is also known as British N Scale. Although model vehicles were produced at this size in the past, Oxford Diecast were the first company in the world to take it so seriously.
